Colombo: The Gentrified City in Asia

Due to its central location at the crossroads of major maritime trading routes, Colombo was constantly used by the Romans, the Chinese and the Arabs. After two successive invasions by two different colonial powers - the Portuguese and the Dutch - the British declared Colombo as the Capital City, deeming it the country’s primary merchant harbour, having expelled the King of Kandy in 1815. The city lends itself perfectly to a series of exciting walking and bike tours, exposing the curious visitor to unparalleled sites and experiences never to be forgotten.
